PRIZE WINKING RECYCLERS

Mrs. Cordiner's first grade class
in Central Blvd. School entered
the NYS "l'm-a-green-nation"
contest in March. The contest is
held to promote recycling. It is directed
by Senator Nicholas Spano with
the aid of Senator Marino. Mrs.
Cordiner's class submitted a "Save
the Earth Video" which was produced
by Mrs. Cordiner and
starred every member of her class.
In making the video, the children
learned the meaning and the
importance of recycling, reducing
and reusing in our world.
On Friday, March 18,1994, Mrs.
Cordiner received a phone call
from Senator Spano's office
informing her that the class video
won First Place in the state in the
first through third grade category
of videos. The class was invited to
go to Albany to be presented with

Nassau County Executive Thomas S. Gulotta (center) recently held
a planning session with the organizers of this year's Normandy Invasion
Commemoration, scheduled for Sunday, June 5th, beginning at 11:00
AM, in Eisenhower Park. |
The County is seeking volunteers to assist the veterans in organizing
and coordinating this commemoration ceremony. In addition, the
County is seeking to hear first-hand stories from those who served
