MIDDLE SCHOOL HONOR STUDENTS
HELP TO MAKE WISHES
COME TRUE
On February 13, 1995, the
National Junior Honor Society of
John F. Kennedy Middle School
in Bethpage held their annual
Valentine's Day Dance. Under the
advisement of Ms. Surelle Hei-berger
and the two co-chairpersons,
Evan Lison and Tara
McCarthy, the dance was a huge
success. In addition to the lively
dancing, there were many booths
featuring face painting, fortune-telling,
computer dating, kiss-a-gram
and even a marriage booth.
With the help of local merchants
who donated many wonderful
prizes, members of the NJHS and
the student body were able to raise
oyer $5,000 for the Make-A-Wish
Foundation, an organization
which brightens the life of terminally
ill children. A check was
presented to Mrs. Bonnie Healy of
Make-A-Wish Foundation on
March 13, 1995 at the National
Junior Honor Society Induction.
We are all proud of the outstanding
work, effort, and result of this
endeavor and of these students.
