Nassau County Executive Thomas
S. Gulotta today joined with
several County legislators to outline
an action plan for the future
development of the 600 acre
Grumman property in Bethpage.
During a press conference at the

in Nassau suitable for comprehensive
planned development."
Gulotta was joined by Majority

Edward Mangano and
Peter J. Schmitt in announcing the
plan.
"In my recent State of the
County address, I recommended
the development of a well though-out
comprehensive master plan
for these 600 acres that would
permit its redevelopment in an
environmentally safe fashion,"
Gulotta said. "The redevelopment
of this parcel must be viewed not
just on the basis of our needs
today, but also on the basis of the
economic and job opportunities
that will be made available to our
children and future generations. I
am deeply appreciative of the
efforts of Legislators Blakeman,
Mangano and Schmitt in coordinating
this comprehensive plan."
Presiding Officer Bruce Blakeman,
(7th L.D.) stated, "The Grumman

cornerstone of Nassau County's
economic development in the

Schmitt have been working with

insure that this land is put to its
highest and best use and is compatible
with the surrounding
communities."
Legislator Edward Mangano,
(17th L.D.) stated: "This plan
exemplifies my commitment to
insuring that the property is developed
in a fashion that fuels
economic development for the
County while protecting the needs
and quality of life of the Bethpage
and Hicksville communities in
which the property is located."
And Deputy Presiding Officer
Peter Schmitt, (12th L.D.) said:
