Hartigan Council Donates
To St. Martin's Outreach
One of our ongoing favorite local charity has been the unconditional
support of the St. Martin of Tours Outreach Program. The St. Mar
tin's Outreach Program is designed to help those in need, either spiritually,
morally and financially. Over the course of the past year, the
Rev. Michael J. Hartigan Council has donated over two thousand dollars
and will continue to do so to help our parish and its needy parishioners.
Mr. Conrad M. Hoffmann is the director of the Outreach Program
and is also a Brother Knight for the past twenty years. Let us continue
to help those who may have problems helping themselves. Please
pray for Connie's continued success.

Water Safety and Health
Issues Discussed With
Sunnylane
Assemblyman Marc Herbst (R,C-Hicksville, 14th A.D.) (center), in
an effort to alleviate concerns regarding the quality of water in the
Bethpage comnumity, arranged a meeting between residents of the
Sunny Lane Senior Community complex and state and local officials.
Among those present were representatives from the New York State
Department of Environmental Conservation, the New York State Department
of Health, the Nassau County Department of Health and the
Bethpage Water District.
The speakers discussed the environmental and health concerns
regarding groundwater contamination at, and emanating from, the
Grumman site. Explanations were given to help residents understand
the difference between groundwater and the drinking water supply.
Residents were assured that the groundwater contamination does not
impact the quality of the drinking water which with regular monitoring
has been found to be of the highest quality.
