Tim Walsh Receives
Jenkins Honorary
LifeAward
On September 14, Central
Boulevard School hosted their
Annual Meet the Teacher Night.
It is also on this night that the
PTA presents the Jenkins
Honorary Life Award, which is
given to someone who
exemplifies dedication and
commitment to the children of
their school. This award is quite
prestigious and it entitles the
recipient to a lifetime
membership in the PTA.
This year s recipient was truly
deserving of such an honor. At
any given time you will find Tim
Walsh working with a big smile
on his face. He is always willing
to lend a hand and works
tirelessly for the children and
faculty of Central Blvd. School.
Tim is a custodian at the school
and has worked for the Bethpage
School District for over 20 years.
We say work but for Tim it seems
more like a pleasure. His friendly
disposition and cheery nature
make just knowing him a delight.
Tim has managed to overcome
many obstacles in his life and
certainly overcame the fact that
he is hearing impaired. While
others would choose to remain
behind the scenes because of a
handicap, Tim, on the other
hand, is always out in front. In
fact, he is always the star
performer of the faculty at the
school's Annual Lip Sync Show.
Tim was totally surprised and
overwhelmed to receive such an
honor and it was heartwarming
that his family was able to be
with him to watch him receive
such a special award. They were
elated and proud, as too was Tim
Walsh, a man who exemplifies
the best of human spirit and
kindness each and every day.
Congratulations Timmyll

Apollo Makes a Splash
In Bethpage
Apollo has landed right here in
Bethpage. On September 13, the
ribbon was cut on the fabulous new
clubhouse which will be utilized by
the residents of Bethpage's newest
senior development, Apollo. This
complex which now boasts over
200 occupied units is the next door
neighbor to the Sunnylane Senior
Development, both which fall
under the newly initiated S2 zone.
If you have not yet had the chance
to take a look at this new complex,
I can just tell you that it looks far
more like a Disney resort than a
senior complex.
The crowd attending
Wednesday's grand opening was
quite impressive as they gathered
outside the doors, patiently
waiting for a chance to get that
first glimpse of their new
clubhouse. Let me just tell you that
it certainly was worth the wait. The
clubhouse is simply gorgeous.
- When entering to the right you will
find a small exercise room with a
stationery bike and two treadmills.
To the left is a laundry area.
Immediately in front of you is the
great room which boasts
breathtaking furnishings as well
as a fireplace and an impressive
card room which is adjacent to it.
The colors are warm and inviting
and the atmosphere is delightful.
. There was much attention to detail
and decorating, right down to the
beautiful window treatments.
Residents were treated to a
buffet by their hosts Thomas and

developers, who deserve a standing
ovation for the fine work which
they have done in constructing
such a beautiful complex. They
spoke to the crowd and welcomed
all to a facility that they hope will
be enjoyed for many years to come
They also thanked many
individuals who helped make the
Apollo dream a reality. Father
Crotty, Pastor Bennardo and
Rabbi Gordon spoke to the
standing room only crowd, as too,
