For 29 years, Signore Maio, a
foreign language teacher at
Bethpage High School, has been
conducting an Italian feast at the
school in recognition of the Feast of
St Joseph, an annual tradition in
Italy Every year, students enrolled
in the schools Italian program help
prepare a smorgasbord of antipasto,
entrees, and desserts tor the entire
school community to enjoy Students
also decorate the auxiliary
gymnasium, Italian style This year,
seniors enrolled in the program
posted their faces on a mural on the
gymnasium wall
Bethpage Chamber Receives
Flag From Vietnam Vets
Paul Masi, center, President of the Vietnam Veterans of America,
Nassau County Chapter #82, presents an American flag and a
POW/MIA flag to the Bethpage Chamber of Commerce at a recent
ceremony in the center of town. Accepting the flags are Chamber
President Gary Bretton, left, and Nassau County Legislator Ed
Mangano, right. The new flags replaced the worn flags flying on the
Chamber flagpole on Broadway.

Invites Residents to
Budget Presentation
Bethpage High School PTSA cordially invites all Bethpage school
district residents to a presentation ol the proposed Bethpage School
District 2001 2002 budget on April 25th at 8 00 pm in the High School
Little Theatre.
Parents from Bethpage High School, JFK Middle School and Charles
Campagne Elementary Schools are urged to attend this presentation Each
PTA unit must have a minimum of io PTA members in attendance in order to
vote to support the budget as being educationally sound tor all the students
of Bethpage
This presentation is very important to attend to get an idea of what the
School Board is proposing for our children Make it a [joint to come to this
meeting to better understand what is going on in our schools You will be
glad you did when it comes time to vote on May 15th
The Bethpage High School PTSA will hold then monthly business
meeting at 7 oo pm before the budget presentation
