Boys Volleyball Champs
With a League record 14-2, the Bethpage High School Boys Varsity
Volleyball squad slammed their way to a championship. The team won
Conference 1IA Champions and became Nassau County B Champions for
the first time in the team's 14-year historv.
Co-captain Anthony Vescova and senior Jay Kwon were honored with
All-County status and co-captains Thomas Brusca, Vinod Kasturi, junior
Mike Mougias, and senior Jeff Soto were All-Conference selections.
Vinod was also given tournament "MVP honorable mention'" by the
coaches.
The Nassau County Coaches Association named Coach Renee Gannon
""Coach of the Year." Congratulations to Coach Gannon and the team for
making Bethpage proud.
Designing for Music at BHS
Bethpage High School Junior Anthony Lipp's arl design was choosen
from hundreds of entrys Countywide by the Nassau County Music
Education Association. The Design is to be the cover of the organization's
2006-2007 Directory Guide. He was awarded a $100 U.S. Savings Bond
along with a framed copy of the new Directory featuring his design.

Karen DeMairo Honored by PTA
The Bethpage Council of PTA's presented Vice President Karen DeMairo with its
Lifetime Membership Award. Karen's involvement with PTA started when her son
Steven (Class of 2005) first enrolled in Kindergarten at Kramer Lane Elementary
School. She has held officer positions for PTA Kramer Lane, JFK Middle School
and PTA Council. Karen has also been a member of Site Base teams for Kramer,
JFK and Bethpage High School. In one capacity or another, she has been involved
in organizing the Annual PTA Installation and Awards Dinner. "'Karen's opinion is
respected and acknowledged because of her years of experience. She is the person
you can always count on to get the job done," said Council President Anna
Israelton. Karen is seen here with her husband Mark, and her other son Chris, who
will be a freshman at the high school this fall.
IT'S FESTIVAL TIME
Summer time is here and with the warmer temperatures and lazy days at the beach
comes the much anticpated Bethpage Chamber of Commerce Festival which this
year is taking place on August 1 1 and 12. This fabulous two day event will be featuring
an .ALL NEW UNBELIEVABLE additon to the fantastic midway that
Newton and Sons Amusements provides. There wil be plenty of food, fun and
entertainment for the young and young at heart as well as vendor and informational
booths from local merchants, chruch groups and organizations.
The Bethpage Chamber of Commerc Summer Festival has been deemed the
third largest festival on Long Island and will once again feature an unbelievable
fireworks display b\ world reknown BAY fireworks. THe event will take place
from 6pm - midnight both evenings and will once agian be offering a PAY ONI'
PRICE BRACELET. Make sure you check out the Tribune for your Lucky Bucks
Coupon which will appear in teh festival edition of this newspaper.
All chamber members and community groups who want a booth at the Summer
Festival must fill out a fair application form (which will be available at Unique
Impressions, 338 Broadway, Bethpage, New York). Forms can either be dropped
off at that location or mailed to the Chamber at P.O. Box 636 Bethpage New York
1 1714. This festival is a wonderful chance for local businesses to highlight their
goods and or services as the festival attracts of 25,000 people. So mark your calendar
and get ready fro Bethpag'es summer event of the year! For further information
