The United States Are We
Together, as a nation
The United States are we,
Proud people drawn from near and far
Here gathered to be free.
Molded in the bond of unity
Of a fiber strong with love,
Interlaced with many cultures
Guided by the light above.
From the torch we bear for freedom
Glows the path all seek to find,
Toward the road of peace and brotherhood
Precious hope of all mankind.
From our hamlets and our rural towns
To our cities rising tall,
We are joined in purpose and resolve
To have equal rights for all.
There are times that will remind us
That our freedoms are not free,
Brave souls did fall in conflict
To forge our liberty.
To those who gave their lives for us
All their memories we share,
They shall always be remembered
Ever in our grateful prayer.
On this earth that we are part of
Gliding on this fragile sphere,
Let us reach out to all other lands
With a friendship strong and clear.
There, among the flags of this vast world
Flies that banner high and true,
America's beloved stars and stripes
Our own red white and blue.
With open arms we ever shall
A sanctuary be,
This place, this golden treasured place,
The United States are we.
