defending America. Every person who
volunteered has truly have made a difference...

Airman Eric Gaertner Visits Plainedge Middle School to Say Thank You!
County Legislator Ed Mangano attended a program for a former
Plainedge student and Iraq War Veteran Airman Eric Gaertner at
Plainedge Middle School on November 7, 2008. Students from the
National Jr. Honor Society collected much needed items for the
troops in Iraq and Eric's sister Sara (pictured front row far left) knew
just where to send them. Eric received the parcels from students at
Plainedge Middle School and distributed them to his fellow soldiers.
The troops flew an American Hag on their helicopter during an
important mission and Eric presented the flag to the school as part of
this special and touching program to show his appreciation and
thanks for all the support that Plainedge Middle School showed him
and his troops.
