George P. Conklin, sr., brother of Piatt Conklin, died Saturday in Jack¬ sonville, Fla., aged 54 years, after a lingering illness. He left Freejiort ¦ several weeks ago, in company with his wife, for a triii to .Mexico, but was invible to reach his destination. His rjmains were brought to Babylon for interment. Mr, Conklin was a son of Nathaniel Conklin, deceased, and was born .at Babylon, where he ilvet! a number of years after his marriage. Mr. ('onk- lin at one time residetl at Wtiodmere before coming to Freejiort, and was active in business until a few years ago, when his health began to fail.
