Hurt in Auto Collision
Mrs.   Kranklin   (;.   Hill   of   Merrick was badly bruised in an auto accident Monday evenintf, while crossinK  .Mer¬ rick   Road   at   Lent;   Beach   Avenue,' when her car was hit by another driv¬ en   by  Thomas  Wicks  of  Bay  Shore. Mrs.   Hill   was  taken  to  the  home  of her   friend,    .Mis.   Knobel,   on   South ' LonK Beach  .Avenue, and a  physician summoned, and word sent to her hus- | band, ("aptain Hill, who was at Home i Defense      Headquarters     on     Grove I Strett.     An  examination  showed  that no  bones  ha<l  been broken, and  -Mrs. Hill   is   recoverinir   nicely     from     the shock, at her honio at Merrick.

To Drill on Extended Orders
The Freeport Governor's Reserve will be called out next Saturday after-, ^^T noon, the 2Sth, for a special drill in ! to skirmish work. The first company is Kettinj; in KOod shape on marching close orrler drill and is now to be driv¬ en' advanced work.
The second company is bcins slow¬ ly whipped into shape and the "sol¬ diers"   are   showinsr   much   interest.
