Charles Conklin succeeds E. W. Fritz at the local ticliet office of the L. I. R. R. Mr. Conklin is a resident of Freeport and it is hoped he will become a permanent fixture at the depot. Mr. Fritz, who was popular with the commuters, and had a rep¬ utation for being accommodating and good-natured, has been promoted to Penn- Station.

OBITUARY
.Samuel S. Lee
Samuel S. Lee, who was born in Poughkeepsie in 1846, died last Thursday at his home at Rockville Centre. He is survived by his wife and three sons, Frank and John of Rockville Centre, and Fred L. J,, a prominent builder of Freeport. Fun¬ eral services were held Sunday at 2 o'clock at his late home. Rev. Rich¬ ard Hegarty of St. Mark's M. E. Church, officiating. Interment was in Greenfiel<l Cemetery.
JAMES W. CHESHIRE
The funeral services over the re¬ mains of James W. Cheshire was held at his late home, Gienada Court, Fri¬ day afternoon. The house was not large enough to hold those who wished to pay their last tribute of respect to their brother and neighbor. There were dele cations present from the Fire Depi^'-tment and the Orders of Odd Fellows and Junior Mechanics, in all of vhich he had taken active interest, Af-d held various offices.
The funeral address was delivered by Rev. .S, O. Curtice, pastor of the M. E. Church, of which Mr. Cheshire was a me.nber, following which the burial services were held at Green¬ field Cemetery.
