Everett Brooks of Wantagh, while riding a wheel along the Merrick Road in company with Bert Jacobson of the same village, last Saturday evening, was struck by an automobile near the corner of Newbridge Road and seri¬ ously injured. Dr. H. V. Holcomb, who passed shortly after the accident happened, summoned an ambulance from Mercy HospiUil, Hempstead, to which institution Everett was re¬ moved. An examination showed that he had sustained a severe fracture of the hip, concussion of the brain and possible internal in,juries. The auto¬ mobile did not stop after the acci¬ dent and although the police were notified all the way lo Jamaica, the occupants evaded detection. The nuniber of the machine was not ob¬ tained.
^Irs. Joseph Wanser, who wis tak¬ en to Mercy Hospital about four weeks ago, suffering from pneumonia, re¬ turned to her home on Sunday last much improved.
Beginning next Sunday, and contin- liing for two weeks, special revival services will be held in J.h^~ M. F.. Church, assisted by Mrs. Lord, evan¬ gelist. Special music wili be one of the interesting features of these ser¬ vices.
Fred Hodgson had a narrow escape from serious accident on Tuesday af¬ ternoon when a car which he was driving overturned on Bedford .Ave¬ nue, near the school house. Although considerably shaken up, Fred sus¬ tained only a few minor cuts and bruises.

School will close for the Siimmer vacation on Friday, June 22.
William Behr has kindly offered frfK- his Royal Theatre for the gradu¬ ation exercises on June 22. The Board of Education accepteti his kind offer, which is appreciated by pupils and faculty. This will enable all to come and enjoy the evening, as the Royal has a seating capacity of 500. On Wed¬ nesday evening, .lune 20, the primary grades will hold their entertainment in the school auditorium.
The patriotic lecture at the school on Thursday evening last was a suc¬ cess in every particular. President Pohlman of the Board of Education, Patriotic Instructor Greenleaf. Sup¬ ervisor H. K. Smith, Col. Dickson, Commander Patterson, Comrades Tabb, Bennett, Cornell and others oc¬ cupied the platform.
