Randall, to cele¬ brate bis 70tb birthday. Many ob servers would have ecpticially noted how tbe women were gowned, but tbis one would say that while ^y were becomingly dressed he was more im¬ pressed by the gatmtint of neigbterli- ness, klcdne^a, comradeship and friendship in which the entire com¬ pany, both male and female, were garbed, William S. Hall proposed, early in the aftornoon, a congratala* tory vote from those preaent te Mr. Bandall, which was unaniinMsly and heartily adopted, witb tte Chataaqaa salute. Mr. [Randall made a fitting responae, after whieh Wliliam G. Mil ler called UQon friends preeent for ad¬ dresses. Among tbe enjoyable features of the afternoon waa a collation served by Jones, a Brooklyn caterer.
No man has done as much for ibe Village of Freaport as Mr. Randall, wbo is quite properly known as the "father of Freeport." He came here from Greenpoint over 20 yeara ago, and has b«lped matoriaily in building the village from a little hamlet to a community of over 7000 people, and bas always taken a deep intereat in alt its aflaira.
Mr. and Mrs. Randall will go to Florida in aboat two weeka, according to tbeir usual costoiq, to remain for the winter.
