The Boy .Scouts served as guard to the flag which was slowly raised by little Miss Estelle Wolfe following a salute and to the singing by the school children of the national anthem. .Mr. Powell read with fine affect a paper setting forth the history of the flag and its significance, concluding with an exhortation to loyalty and was fol¬ lowed by Mr. Littebrandt in a speech upon the war and .Merrick.
