I ijrove the two inch pipe and strainer dewn tn a depth of llit ft . !S inches, wn-tiiiiu ahead of strainer to a d»'pth <^f 127 ft, without finding any gcod resolts. Below the ] top strata in which your present wells are located, the following results were ! obtained. To a rieiith nf 4;i ft. en¬ countered nothing but a line beach sand, from 48 ft. to 4i^ It. found a streak nf clay and from 48 ft. to 127 ft. obtained nothing hat a beach sand with a small mixture of clay through it. From 86 ft. lo 91 ft. and between 111 ft. and lis ft. small water bear¬ ing strata were found, both stratas being in tine beach sand, the water level rising to witbin lo ft. lu in. of the ."urface of the ground. You will note that tbere was no water bearing gravel obtained in any part of the abuve teat and tbe shnllnwness of the water-bearing strutas found, and tbe fineness of the sand in which they are locati'd. niakes it inipractiialile and inadvisable to attenij;t to construct wells to a greater depth than the strata in which your present wells are locateil and get goud results.
