Cailithumpians Plannin}( for Annual Parade
The annual parade and games of the Callithampian Association will be beld next Thursday, Thanksgiving Day. The parade will form on Brooklyn Ave¬ nue, opposite the L. I. R. R. depot at 9:30 a. m., headed by mounted police and the Red Uniform Concert Band of New York. Pri«es will be awarded for the most grotesque costumes. The games and races will we held on Olive Boulevard at 2 p. m. The band will alio play during the atternoon.
The games will be aa follows:Horse race, potato race on borae back, 2- mile relay race on horseback. 100 yard dash, sack race, 60 yards; wheelbar* row race, ahoe race, 60 yards. The horse races will be under the supervi. sion of Sheriff S. P. Pettit and com mittee. Entries for the racea, other than horse events, should be made to Qeorge Aring.

The monthly meeting of the Wo¬ man's Foreign Missionary Society will be held this Friday afternoon in the church parlor.
The Sunday School held a rummage sale in the vacant store formerly occu¬ pied by the Gaa Company on Merrick Road on Friday, Saturday and Mon¬ day. The sale was a very sacceaaful affair and was continued on Monday on account of such a demand for the second-hand clothing for men and boys. The proceeds amounted to over $100, which is for benefit of the Sunday School.

The Union Thanksgiving Service, which ia to be beld on Thursday, No vember 80, will be in theM. E. Church at 10:30 a. m.

The Men's Clab of the Firat Baptist Church Monday night had aa guests the Men's clabs or representatives, of the Lutheran, Presbyterian, Metho¬ dist and Episcopal Churches, with sev¬ eral of tha nastora, to hear a talk by Colonel Fruii..lin P. Sellers, religious editor cf The Eage. The speaker was introduced by Rev. William Br?cken- ridge. pastor of the church, and the prayer before the lecture was made by Rev. Herbert H. Scott, rector of the Episcopal Chorch of the Transfigura¬ tion.
The speaker of the evening gave a running comment on a number of the prominent preachers of Brooklyn of a quarter uf a century ago. He also dwelt lor aome time on what he con¬ sidered to be the function ot a men's club, saying that he l:hought the men of any church could do a good work if they devoted themselves lo the welfare of the community in which they lived, instead of giving their time altogether to social gatherings.
The talk was well received, and on motion of Rev. Mr. Scctt a rising vote uf thanks was given to the speaker. A social hour followed and refresh¬ ments were served.
Rev. A. C. Karkau, pastor of the Lutheran Church, sfioke of the plans fot the Lutbtran Reformati'-n celebra¬ tion next'year. He thought a civic federation reformation would be an ap¬ propriate thing in the village.
E. B. Lent spoke highly of tbe deep¬ er nature of the elergy, and Rev, J. Sidney Gould of tbe Presbyterian Church touched on tbe vnroios views of ditferent denorainationa, showing tbiU all are directing their attention to the uplift «f mankind.
