M»i ON DRAFT
The local Baard U sending ont this waek tha qnestionnairsa aa provided by /Sofaminent order, in the order in widch the names appear as listed by the Govenunent drawing last Som¬ mer.
The erders provide that 5 per cent, (one twentieth of the list) mast be sent oot each day antfl Om wark is coapleted. When a questionnaire is received the person raceiving it must retorn 4t within one week or he is automatically placed in the class des¬ ignated as Class 1 which is the list from which names will be first taken for the next draft lista when men are required for active service.
These papers are sent to every name on tiie list, excepting the men now in active serviee in the Army and Navy. All exemptions and discharges for physical or a^tever reason, are withdrawn and the men must file the blanks properly filled out.
One feature of the law is to the ef¬ fect that failure to receive the blank does not excuse from the provisions —if the blank is not returned within the specified time the responsibility is with the drafted man, rather than with the exemption board.
The following card sent to the men with their blanks, explains the proced¬ ure if assistance is desired in filling out the blanks:
Notice to Registrants.—Any inform¬ ation or advice required in answering questionnaire should be obtained from tiie Legal Advisory Board for your District.
Names of chairmen and districts follow: Theodore N. Ripsom, Gsrden City; Francis R. Taylor, Hempstead; Edgar Jackson, Freeport, Baldwin, Merrick and Roosevelt; Edwin G. Wright. Rockville Centre and Ocean- side; G. C. Clark, Loi« Beach.

An tbe soUiers having left Camp Mills for the present and tbe number of soldiers and sailora on our streets behig almoat as in times of peace, tbe need for keeping Amy Headquartera open longer seems removed and aftar a quiet Saturday and Sunday duriac adiicb not over a couple dos«i soldiers visited the rooms it was decided to close for tbe present which baa ac¬ cordingly been done. The memben ef Tnfek Company No. 1 (Excelaior) having volunteered the ase of tbate*! rooms as needed the equipment at Headquarters including the phono¬ graph and records books games and writing material was sent down there. Friendships have been made which will be lasting, we have made a j reputation for hospitality and bavej also become better acquainted with ojir own next door neighbors. It hss been a work well worth while. Our Appreciation The officers and committees are grateful to all who have helped by the loan of fumsihings by cash refresh¬ ments smokes reading material and personal services and to all in tem¬ porarily closing we would say "Merry Christmas and thank fou." May your Christmastide be the more happy for the work you have so cheerfully don« for others.
Our Finances We have more than enough cash on hand with which to pay our bills. As soon as the treasurer can find the time itemized statement will be pre¬ sented for publication.

November 13, 1017. Somewhere hi France. Dear Mr. Nutt:—
Well the boys sll arrived ssfely on this side, about a week ago. We had a pleaaant trip without any startiing incidents of any nature. Tbe weather was exceptionally good. Mast be the good luck of the Rainbow Div. How about it?
We are now in camp bere and it is a dandy. Very good barracks instead ef the tonto we had at Camp MiUs. But we get plenty of work here to keep ns busy. Havent as much time to go down to Freeport as I used to. Ha! Ha! Gee but I sure wish that I could see you all again and have some of that Saturday night coffee and cake.
WhUe I am speaking of Feeeport let me again thank you moat sincere¬ ly for all that you and our other friends at Army Headquarters did for US. It certainly helped a lot to keep ns feeling cheerful. Believe loe wben we get baek I'm coming to Preeport to see you aU before I go home.
I'd Uke to teU yoa aU about tbe Ufe here, but you know it isnt permitted.

Tbara ase abont 15 omo left in onr compaay who left Bempstead with us on Febraary 4th. We bave a totol of about 50 in oUr compaay,'of which 7 are awaiting physical discbarges, 1 is in the hospitol and in the final count there are about 8 privates and 20 non- coms ready to drill.
Our captoin feels quite bad about losing most of bis Oien and tokes it to heart quite a good deal.
Company I of Flushing represented this regrent in tbe footiwU touras- ment between the 105th (23rd), lOdth (2nd) and the IOth Regiments. To¬ day Company I played the Headquar¬ ters Co. of the 106th Infantry for the championship of our street and we won.
The fatare !for the lOtb does not look very rosy and from all the rum¬ ors one hears down hen why yon can hardly believe anything. The most persistent one that I hear is to the ef¬ fect that we are going to be skeleton¬ ized and then filled up with drafted men. AU tiuit will be left will prob¬ ably be the officers, top sergeanta and the sapply sergeant, all the rest wUl probably be transferred to the 27th Diviaion.

INFORMATMNFOR M»i ON DRAFT The local Baard U sending ont this waek tha qnestionnairsa aa provided by /Sofaminent order, in the order in widch the names appear as listed by the Govenunent drawing last Som¬ mer. The following card sent to the men with their blanks, explains the proced¬ ure if assistance is desired in filling out the blanks: Notice to Registrants.—Any inform¬ ation or advice required in answering questionnaire should be obtained from tiie Legal Advisory Board for your District. Names of chairmen and districts follow: Theodore N. Ripsom, Gsrden City; Francis R. Taylor, Hempstead; Edgar Jackson, Freeport, Baldwin, Merrick and Roosevelt; Edwin G. Wright. Rockville Centre and Ocean- side; G. C. Clark, Loi« Beach. Registrants shonld NOT apply to the Local Board for information as they will be referred to legal Advis¬ ory Board for their district.
