For 17th World Jamboree
Three Nassau lads are included-in
the-young army tif 15,000 Soy Scouts
from 47 countries that will meet
-tonight at Bad'Ischl, Austria, for
the Seventh World Jamboree which
opens .the following day..The^Dnl-ted-
Sbates-contingent of '846 -Scouts
sallied from, Hoboken on -July ^8
aboard the SS. Aifeentioa. The first
port was "Algiers whersnie Scouts
enjoyed a full day of sightseeing.
They arrived at Naples on Wed-nesday
July 25,. and the Scouts who
were to spend some time sightsee-ing
in Italy" debarked there. The
remaining -Scouts_J leTt the ship
Thursday at^Geiioa froin where
they 'headed" for Switzerland.'
The Nassau-Scouts-in the; Am-erican
delegation are iPaul M.
Schafifer and Alan Kaplan, both
of Troop 216, Great- Neck, and
Joseph Hayes of Troop 1S5, New
Hyde Park. .
Following the Jamboree they will
slave Austria on August 14 and con-
;lnue their tour west through Ger-many
and arrive in Cherbourg;- Par-s,
on August 19. The Scouts will
