A general public hearing on the
proposed' Preeport-Roslyn Express-way
to. which representative, .of.,all
areas affected would be Invited is
asked by opponents of the ^press-way
in a four-point resolution adop-ted-
at a meeting held last Thursday
night, Atoner Sundell, Freeport mem-ber
of-the Expressway Protest Com-mittee,
announced this week.
A copy of the resolution and list
of"representatives ^fronT various
areas who attended the meeting
were supplied The Leader by Mr.
Sundell. The text of the resolution
follows:
-: 1. We recognize the necessity of
highway expansion in Nassau Coun-ty
but we feel the extent and cost
of _the_ proposed project has not
been demonstrated.
2. We oppose the. action of the
County hi holding separate hearing
on sections of the proposed Express-way.
3. We oppose toe adoption of
land acquisition maps by the Coun-ty
Board of Supervisors "before- the

Bloodmobile to Visit
Freeport on/ March 22
- American: Red Cross blood-mobile
Vill pay a return visit to
Freeport Saturday, March 22, it was
announced this week. The blpod-mofoile
will be at the Seaman Ave-nue
School tthat day from. 9; 45 in
the morning until 3:30 o'clock in
the afternoon to receive donations
erf blood from, residents of the vil-lage,
for use in behalf of men in the
armed forces, especially in Korea.
The bloodmobile's visit last Fall
was an outstanding, success, the
quota for the day having been ex-ceeded
by a substanitial figure.
All those who are willing to be
blood donors on the re'turn visit of
the btoodmobile MJardh 22 are asked

Eobert O'Donnell, a Catholic layman, gave the . address
Interfaith Clergy Council and the service clubg of the village
Monday night in the parish house of the Freeport- Methodist
Church. He substituted for Dr. J. Everett Clinchy, president of
the National Conference of Christians and Jews, who was un-able
to keep his local engagement, '
•Mr. O'Donnell, who is associated

fire was started by a cigarette left
in a chair by a customer of the
Leonard Shop., 72 South Main street,
shortly before the store was closed
for the day, as the blaze originated
