To Bring Freeport Up
To Goal Leaders Set •
During the first two days of regis-tration
last Friday and Saturday,
9,395 Freeport citizens qualified to
vote in the presidential election on
Tuesday, November 4. This is more
than 5,000 short of the 15.000 goal
set by Sheriff H. Alfred Vollmer,
Republican leader, and Albert J.
Connolly, Democratic chief for
Freeport.
Every effort is to be made to get
every prospective voter possible to
the polls tomorrow and Saturday,
the final days of registration, so as
to qualify for a record vote in No-vember.
The hours of registration
tomorrow will be frcm 10 o'clock in
the morning until 10 o'clock at night,
and on Saturday from 7 A.M. to
0 P:M.
Freeport's 9,395 registration for
the first two days was 4,5$0-ahead
of last year's figure" of 4,665 8>r the

DeLwmes* Qolden Wedding
Celebrated At Coral House
Mr. and Mrs. John F. DeLorme, 251 West Lena avenue,
Celebrated, their golden wedding anniversary by giving a
dinner party for the members of their family Sunday evening
in the^Coral House, Baldwin.;
Mr. DeLorme and the former
Miss Louise Barmitz were married
hi Manhattan at a home wedding
on October 1, 1902. They came to
Freeport to live 30 years ago. Mr.
DeLorme served three terms as
Village Trustee, 1&27 to 1933, and
as head of the local Office of Price
Administration later being assigned
to headquarters' m Manhattan, dur-ing
World War II. When .rent con-trols
were put into effect 'he had
supervision over the eight districts
in Nassau. County and eleven in
Suffolk.
On .reaching the retirement age
of 70, he was retained by -the Vil-lage
Board -to go over all the rec-ords
that have been accumulated
since the community was incorpor-ated
60 years ago with a view to
eliminating those that were no long-er
needed. He was formerly in a
branch of the-buildjhg -line and has
been a member of the Freeport
'Lodge of Elks for 30 years.

Gregorious of Merrick, who was

$40,000 Building For
Aeronautical^chqol

•Brooklyn Polytechnic Institute
has obtained a permit from the Bur-eau
of Buildings -to erect a $40,000
one-story building at 527 Atlantic
avenue, to house its Aeronautical
Engineering School. The building
will occupy, a plot 60 by 98 feet in
size. The firm of John Thatcher &
Son of Manhattan has the contract
for -the construction of the building.
This was one of 37 permits for new
building costing $384.400 listed by
Superintendent of Buildings W. P.
Demobt in his September report to
the Village Board at its semi-monthly
meeting Monday night. He
also reported permits for additions
and alterations to 32 buildings esti-mated
to cost $34,535 for a total
of $418,935.
