Emergency Bus Action
In an unprecedented action, the District # 22 Board
of Education passed unanimously a unique motion,
upon recommendation by Board Member Edward Mc-
Nally and Transportation Chairman that the school
district would lease from two to six buses on a day to
day basis and the financial expenditure incurred would
be turned over to the contractor and/ or its surety
company.

Bids Accepted
Bids will be accepted for die
hire of a motor vehicle to be
used at die Farmingdale Post
Office for delivery of parcel post.
Vehicles are desired to have a
capacity of 160 to 200 cubic feet,
be inclosed, with a van type vehicle
preferred.
Persons interested in renting
such a motor vehicle to the Post
Office may obtain die necessary
forms in the Office of die Post­master.
Bids will be accepted until 5: 00
P. M. on February 28, 1962.

Picked To Run
Mr. Willis B. Carman J r . and John Hallahan were chosen to run for die two trustee post vacancies in the
Incorporated Village of Farmingdale on die Liberty Party ticket by the caucus which met on Sunday.
The Liberty party is die incumbent party.
The two trustees whose terms
expire this April did not chose to
rerun. They are: Trustee David
Allee and Trustee Jack Delaney.
Mr. Allee in addition to being Dean
of the Long Island Agricultural and
Technical Institute has also been
selected by die United Nations for
consulting assignments. A recent
assignment took him to Taiwan,
Formosa.
Aldiough it is not expected that
die ticket will have anyformidable
opposition, by Village Law, there
are still eight more days to file as
a candidate.

in die Farmingdale School Sys­tem.
He is married and has three

A graduate of Hamilton College,
and Fordham Law School Mr. Car­man
practices law and is a mem­ber
of the firm of Carman Cal­lahan
and Carman of Farming-dale.
He has served die Village dur­ing
diis past year as a member
of die Village Planning Board
and has always been an active
participant in community affairs.

die Director of Public Relations
of the Bristol- Myers Company,
was born in Schenectady, New York
on April 17, 1922. He received his
A. B. degree from Union College
in 1946 and did graduate work
at the Syracuse University Max­well
School of Citizenship.
Mr. Hallahan, who served in die
U. S. Army during World War
IL began his business career in
1941 widi the American Locomo­tive
Company. In 1947, he was with
the New York State Civil Service
Commission as a Public Admin­istration
Intern. In 1948, he be­came
a member of the faculty
of the Long Island Agricultural

WHEREAS, the National Association of Christians and Jews have
declared die mondi of February, Brotherhood month, and
WHEREAS, die said association is dedicated to further and implement
a feeling of brotiierhood, tolerance, understanding and goodwill among
all of us, regardless of race, color or creed; and
WHEREAS, die members of the Farmingdale Lions Club, the Farming-dale
Kiwanis Club, the Farmingdale Lodge and Chapter of B'nai B'rith
and the Rotary Club of Farmingdale throughout the years have fostered
and encouraged the splendid ideals of said association,

Final Registration
On Saturday, February 24,
1962 Farmingdale Little League
will have final registration. All
boys between the ages of 8 and 12
years must register at this time.
Registration will be at Main St.
School, Woodward Parkway School
and Albany Ave. School from
10: 00 a. m. til noon. If you did not
apply two weeks ago you must do
so on February 24, 1962 if you
wish to play baseball this year.
The Honorable Joseph G. Brune,
Mayor of the Village of Farming-dale,
the Farmingdale Lions Club,
The Farmingdale Kiwanis Club,
die Farmingdale Lodge B'nai
B'rith, Farmingdale Chapter B'nai
B'rith, and the Rotary Club of
Farmingdale, have proclaimed die
week beginning February 19, and
ending February 26, to be the
Brotiierhood week.
The four service clubs in Far­mingdale
have been acting together
for several years to eliminate
• a duplication of projects and to
implement community activities.
All of die population of the
village of Farmingdale have en­joyed
the fruits of neighborly co­operation
grown with the spirit
of goodwill engendered in this
community, as exemplified by the
policies of spiritual togetherness
of the Mayor of our village and
die members of our village gov­ernment,
the various local organi­zations,
the Churches, and Tem­ples
as well as the four ser­vice
clubs; thus making Farming-dale
the desirable community in
which to live and rear our child­ren.

The Initiation was held Thurs­day
night, February 15th at Beth-page
Masonic Temple, North Main
Street. The three new members
were pAsrnted with their rituals
and pins by Fast Exalted Star
Lynn Amend.
A social hour followed. The
next meeting will be Thursday,
March 1st and a St. Patrick's Party
will be held on Thursday night,
March 15th. The annual Smorgas­bord
sponsored by the Constella­tion
members will take place Sat­urday
night, March 24th.
