The newly elected Trustees of The Incorporated Village of Farmingdale,
Willis B. Carman Jr. ( left) and John T. Hallahan ( r) were
congratulated this past Monday evening at Village Hall, Farming-dale,
after being sworn in at the Annual Reorganizational Meeting
by Mayor Joseph Brune. District Court Judge Willis B, Carman
( not pictured) conducted the swearing in ceremony.

Rose Ann Vance, a Senior at the
Farmingdale Senior High School
was named to the National Honor
Society.
Elected Head
Election of officers was held
at the March meeting of the Farmingdale
Democratic Club.
Those installed for 1962 - 63
were: President, Michael J. Rie-necker;
Vice- President, John
Whalen: Corresponding Secretary,
Marie Bonventre: Recording
Secretary, Betty Ann Ward:
Treasurer, Beatrice Ryan:

Gerard Blom, Robert Callahan
and Alfred Bereche.
Some significant changes were noted at the annual reorganizational meeting of
the Incorporated Village of Farmingdale this past Monday evening. Among those
were the stepping down of Trustee John Delaney, who served for 24 years in this
post and David W. Allee who has been a familiar face in the same capacity for
eight years.
Mayor Congratulates Leo Morgan
Discussing final plans for the SCHOOL BOARD CANDIDATES FORUM to
be presented by the Farmingdale Council of PTS's are Mr. Qrrin Dow,
Panel Moderator; Mrs. Bobbye Posillico, Vice President in charge of
Program; and Mrs. Velma Buckman, Publicity Chairman. This meeting
will be held Tuesday, April 17, at the Farmingdale Senior High School at
8: 30 p. m.
All persons who are seeking election to the Board will speak on their
qualifications for this office. Residents of School District 22 are invited
to attend.

Joseph G. Brune on the opening of
the new Post Office last week.
Budget Hearing
The annual Budget Hearing of
the Incorporated Village of Farmingdale,
for the fiscal year beginning
June 1st, 1962, will be
held in the Village Hall on Monday
evening, April 9th, at 8: 30
o'clock.
The tax rate, as established by
the Tentative Budget, remains at
$ 1.50 per hundreds of assessed
valuation, the same rate which
obtained in the 1961 fiscal year.
All taxpayers of the Incorporated
Village may examine the
Tentative Budget during the usual
business hours beginning April
2nd, and are also invited to attend
" the Public Hearing.
Kiwanis Annual
Easter Egg Roll
The Kiwanis Club will again hold
their annual Easter egg roll in The
Bethpage State Park Stadium, Palm
Sunday, April 15th at 2: 30 P. M.
Children aged 4 to 12 years are
eligible and no admission will be
made.
Dave Milford, Chairman of this
year's affair, on behalf of the Kiwanis
Club of Farmingdale, invites
all the children in the community
to attend this 6th annual event.
Contestants will receive FREE
eggs and candy with prizes for the
winners in each of the three age
groups— 4 to 6, 7 to 9, 10 to 12.
In case of rain the event will be
held Easter Sunday, April 22. Rumors
have it that the " BIG" Easter
Bunny will be there and maybe a
favorite T. V. friends of the kids.

A Public Hearing will be held
on Monday, April 23rd at Village
Hall, Farmingdale, to consider
a tax levy of one per cent on the
gross operating income of utilities
arising from transactions originating
and consumated within the
Incorporated Village of Farming-dale.
It was learned that the New
York Telephone Company a^ d the
long Island Lighting Company
would be affected.

Former Village Police Justice,
Willis B. Carman, who is now Judge
of the District Court, presided at
the swearing- in- ceremonies of his
son, Trustee Willis B. CarmanJr.,
as well as of Trustee John T.
Hallahan.
The following appointments were
made by Mayor Joseph Brune:
Trustee Joseph Zureck, Acting
Mayor; Norman Krasnow, Chairman,
John T. Hallahan, Publicity
Committee; John O. Wagner Jr.,
was named to fill the unexpired
term of Rieser, whose resignation
was announced and whose term
expires in 1956 on the Planning
Board; Mildred DeMarco was
appointed to fill the unexpired term
of Willis B. Carman J r . , whose
term expires in 1965.
The First National Bank of
Farmingdale and The Franklin
National Bank were designated as
official depositiries and THE OB-
