Special Services Will Usher in Christmas Day
/
DISTINGUISHED CAROLERS: Members of the Rotary and Kiwanis clubs
of Farmingdale took their turn Monday nigjit with other local groups in
singing at Main and Conklin Street. Pictured are 1 to r.: Rev. Kenneth

Gregory Carman, Donald Black, William Kemmlein and Jerry Marcus.

Camp Fire Girls Debra Ruppredt, ( left) Janet Colen and Penny Wenner of
the Ta Ku Tci Yan troop of Farmingdale help bundle mailings for the Southeast
Nassau Guidance Center's current fund drive. The Center provides
psychiatric services to individuals and families of southeastern Nassau
who cannot afford private treatment.
Christmas Eve and Christmas Day church services
will usher, in the Holy Day season in Farming-dale.
Midnight Mass will be held at St. Kilians R. C.
Church preceded by a half hour of choral renditions.
Christmas morning Masses will be held at 6: 45,
8: 30 , 9: 45, 11 and 12: 45^
A Solemn High Eucharist will be offered at 11: 30
p. m. on Christmas Eve at St* Thomas Episcopal
Church followed by Christmas Day services at
9 a. m. and 10: 45 a. m.
At the Farmingdale Methodist Church, Candlelight
services will be conducted at 7: 30 and 11
p. m. on Christmas Eve. There will be no Christmas
Day service.
St. Luke's Lutheran Church will hold Vesper
Services at 6: 30 and 8 p. m. and two other services
at 9: 30 and 10: 40 p. m. on Christmas Eve. A 10
a. m. Christmas Day service with Holy Communion
has also been scheduled.
Vamps To
Assist Family
The South Farmingdale Fire
Department announced that they
will assist the family of Mr. and
Mrs. Robert Stauder, 104 Intervale
Avenue, South Farmingdale In
their White Christmas Program.
The Stauder's home wasseverely
damaged as a result of a fire
on December 15. Five year old
son Drew Stauder was rescued by
firemen Ollie Parenti, JohnYea-ger
and Richard Greinerwho
carried the unconscious child to
safety. Where Captain Charles
Zeitler assisted by firemen Bernard
Meinck administered mouth
to mouth resuscitation and young
Stauder was rushed to Mid
Island Hospital.
An appeal for help for the
family is being made by the fire
department who requested that
all contributions be sent Lieutenant

Farmingdale Fire Department,
819 S Main Street, South Farmingdale.
ST. KILIANS STUDENTS
CHOSEN FOR TV
Eleven students from St.
Kilian's School were selected
from hundreds of professional
children auditioned for an NBC
- TV Special " Through Children's
Eyes", shown on Channel 4
last Sunday, December 20 from
3 to 4 p. m. They were: Kevin
O'Connell, Charles Tuttle, John
Mauro, James Chrispino, Felix
Longo, Ronald Smith, James
Owens, Nina Josann, Jacqueline
McNulty, Celeste Broyles and
Carolyn Johnson.
The regular 60 member
ensemble of the St. Kilian Boy-choir
will be making many appearances
in New York City as
well as on Long, Island during
the holiday season.

held a group of retarded
children spellbound as
he performed feats of
magic at the Farming-dale
Fire House last
Saturday afternoon. The
children were transported
from various
schools in the area in
fire engines.
Senior Wins Award
Warren Llewellyn, of 151 Melville
Road, Farmingdale and a
senior at the Farmingdale Senior
High School, was the recipient
of a Paragon Oil Student Incentive
Award for outstanding scholarship
and citizenship.
