University Prepares
For Open House
Members of the faculty and
student body of State University's
Agricultural and Technical College
here are putting the final
touches on their exhibits and
demonstrations to be featured
during the college's 46th Annual
Open House to be held next week.
Scheduled to run from 10 a. m.
to 9 p. m. on Friday, May 7,
and from 10 a. m. to 8 p. m. on
Saturday, May 8, the Farming-ds!"
Open House will see all of
tha college's 20 different technical
programs, plus its Evening
Division, participating.
Visitors to the 380- acre campus
will have the opportunity of
viewing everything from the latest
in agricultural methods to baby
chickens hatching from their
shells; from aircraft operations
procedures to photographic processes.
Also, visitors to the campus
this year will see evidence of
the extensive building construction
and site work now underway.
Open House drew more than
19,000 Long Islanders last year.
Admission is free and parking
space will be provided at the
college, located at the intersection
of Route 110 and Melville
Road in Farmingdale.
Motel Robbed,
Police Report
An assault and robbery
by two men took place
at the Bethpage MOtel on Hempstead
Tpk., Bethpage. An unknown
amount of currency was
taken.

• In Golf World
Farmingdale continued its undefeated
golf season by trouncing
North Shore 8- 1 at the Brook-ville
Country Club. Low men
for the Daler's were Bob Kan-fold
and Jeff Powers with 75
and 76 respectively.
Farmingdale also defeated
Mac Arthur by the score of 7-
1/ 2 to 1- 1/ 2 on the Green Course
at Bethpage. Low man was Bob
Kanfold with a 37 on the front
nine.
In a match with Island Trees
on Wednesday, Farmingdale
over ran their opponents by the
score 8- 1. Low scores were
posted by the Dalers number
1 and 2 men. Both Powers and
Kanfold had 78' s
Farmingdale's overall record
for the past four years in golf
is an amazing 74 wins, one loss,
and one tie.

In a heated election, with the issues sharply-defined,
School District 22 voters came out overwhelmingly
in favor of excellence in education by
approving the school, library, and youth council
budgets as well as a landslide victory for school
candidates Bernard Lang and Josephine Jones whose
platform supported the budgets. Library trustee
incumbent Dr. Albert Meyerstein also won his
contest handily over Edward Werner.
Official results showed that the school budget
was Yes, 1750 and 1220 No votes; library budget
yes 1778, no, 1133; youth council budget, yes: 1894
and 1010 said no.
The vote for candidates running for the G. Roger
Cahaney seat was as follows: Bernard Lang: 1647;
Martin Dolnick: 669 and Carl E. Gorton: 616.
For the seat of George Schriro the teuiy was:
Josephine Jones 1603; Richard Anelli 706 and Robert
Campbell 665.
For the six week unexpired term of Dr. Albert N.
Meyerstein the unopposed candidate received 2172;
for the five year term Dr. Meyerstein polled 1919
