Reveal Coveted Award
At Brotherhood Program
A special Inter- Service Club Brotherhood Week program
will be conducted this Sunday at 2: 00 p. m. at the Weldon E.
Howitt Jr. High School Auditorium. The program is sponsored
by members of the Farmingdale Rotary, Kiwanis and Lions
Clubs and will feature the Man- of- the- Year Award.
Participants will include the St. Kilian's Boychoir and
Chorale, the combined choirs of St. Luke's Lutheran Church
and the Farmingdale Methodist Church, the choir of the
Farmingdale Jewish Center, the Girl Scouts' the Regimentals
Drum and Bugle Corps.
Dr. William Kinzler, Superintendent of Schools, will deliver
an address, followed by a presentation of the Farmingdale
Man- of- the- Year award.
Members of the Inter- Service Club Committee in charge of
this event are: Dave Eysmann, Don Trudden, and Tony
Kaiser of Kiwanis; William Stoll, Owen Schell, Jack Stanforth,
and Bob Oakes of Lions; and Judge Willis B. Carman, Dr. W. E.
Follett and Frank Sixt of the Rotary club.
Anton Kaiser of Kiwanis will be Master of Ceremonies.
Mayor Joseph W. Zureck issued the following proclamation:
WHEREAS, the month of February, 1969 marks the 35th
anniversary of the Brotherhood Movement, and
WHEREAS, Brotherhood Day in Farmingdale, Sunday,
February 23rd is an expression of our concern and friendship
towards our fellow man, and
WHEREAS, The Brotherhood Movement sponsored by the
National Conference of Christians and Jews whose primary
objective and goal is cooperation and understanding amongst
Protestants, Catholics and Jews, and
WHEREAS, The National Conference of Christians and
Jews champion the American ideal that people of various
cultural and religious backgrounds can live peacefully together,
and
WHEREAS, The National Conference of Christians and
Jews has sparked the recognition and practice of humanitarian
principles to which our country has long been dedicated
RESOLVED, that I, Joseph W. Zureck, Mayor of Farming-dale,
do hereby proclaim Sunday, February 23rd, 1969, as
Brotherhood Day, and urge each and every citizen to participate
• in the program to be presented at the Weldon E. Howitt,
Jr. High School.
Sponsored by: Farmingdale Kiwanis Club, Farmingdale Lions
Club, and Farmingdale Rotary Club.
