Firemen Risk Lives
Rescuing Two Victims
Two East Farmingdale F. D.
Volunteer firemen were injured
while making a rescue of a man
trapped on the second floor of his
East Farmingdale Home last
Thursday, but were unable to
save the victim's life. *
Fire Chief Bruce Antonius
informed us that they received a
call for help at 12: 46 a. m. from
Mrs. Lockwood, of 4l7- 17th
Street, that her house was on fire
and her father was trapped inside.
Upon arrival at the scene, Chief
Antonius directed the rescue and
fire fighting operation. A Suffolk
County policeman had been
driven out of the house by fire and
smoke on a prior rescue attempt,
but fireman Jerry Santello and
firemen Ray Meisenheimer
made their way to the second
floor and found John Sebukaty,
79, lying unconscious on his bed.
The firemen removed him from
the building while administering
mouth to mouth resuscitation.
