Farmingdale Village Clerk-

resignation and retirement to the

effective September 30. Former

sworn in as the new village administrator
by Village Justice

" After having served the Inc.

with, 1 hope, dedication to the

of my retirement application,
to be effective as of
September 30th, 1975.
" To be sure this application for
retirement has been carefully
approached and is rather difficult
to express other than my
age factor and my wish to spend
my remaining years with my
wife, Henrietta, in doing things
we have long anticipated, such as
visiting friends throughout this
country, travel, caring for our
lovely home, and of course, my
interest in my favorite pastime,
playing golf.
" I wish to acknowledge my
sincere gratitude to all of you
gentlemen for the many opportunities
presented me in my
tenure to develop as the Clerk-
Treasurer and I hope and pray I

GOP Names Nicosia
Far Legislature Seat
Farmingdale attorney
Salvatore J. Nicosia has been
named by the Nassau County
Republican Party as its candidate
for the Nassau County
Legislature from the third
district.
Nicosia, 39,. a native of Farmingdale,
resides at 121 Hillside
Road, and is a partner in the law
firm of Cronin and Nicosia.
The third county legislative
district includes Farmingdale,
South Farmingdale, Bethpage
and Plainview. Its boundaries
extend from the Northern State
Parkway on the north, south to
the Southern State Parkway and
Boundry Avenue, and from the
Oyster Bay- Hempstead Town
line on the western border to the
Nassau- Suffolk line on the east.
Although the Republican Party
is officially opposed to the new
county legislative system, an
election of legislators to fill the 15
districts proposed has been ordered
by the courts. If the
referendum for a 15 member
county legislature is defeated by
the voters in November, the
elected legislators will not serve.
But, if the referendum is approved
the 15 member slate will
take office in January.

for public office for
Nicosia, he has served as
Commissioner of the Town of
Oyster Bay Housing Authority for
four years. He is a past president

School Dist.
Tax Rate
Set Lower
Tax rates for the Farmingdale
School District were finalized on
Monday evening, September 29,
at a special meeting of the Board
of Education. The actual rate for
the Town of Oyster Bay portion of
the district was $ 18.07, about l. 5c
lower than predicted. In the
Town of Babylon portion of the
district the tax rate is $ 26.81 per
hundred, about 2.3c lower than
predicted.
This slight change came about
on receipt of the assessment rolls
from the Town of Babylon on
September 29. The predicted
drop in assessed valuation was
lower than anticipated, causing
the slight difference between the
predicted and actual figures.
With the added tax of 52.1c for
library and 16.6c for youth
council, the Town of Oyster Bay
section of the school district will
be paying $ 18.76 per hundred in
taxes for these local functions. In
the Town of Babylon the library
rate is 77.4c and the youth council
rate 24.6c for a total of $ 27.83.
