WELCOME TO
FARMINGDALE
New President Dr. Frank Cipriani
On May 7, 1978, Dr. Frank
Cipriani was selected by the
College Council to be the fifth
president of the State
University at Farmingdale. He
has taken the place of Mr.
Mauro Zulli, who served as
acting president after the death
of president Laffin in 1976. Dr.
Cipriani has been a Farming-dale
administrator for 14 years.
Prior to becoming president, he
was vice president of
administration.
During his installation
ceremony, Dr. Cipriani spoke
about Farmingdale's needs and
how he intended to help meet
them. His plan is to be
aggressive when necessary in
order to attain funds for the
school. In the past, students
and professors have complain-ed
that Farmingdale wasn't
getting its fair share of funds.
Dr. , Cipriani responded by
saying that the school has been
very efficient in using the
resources it does have, but
could do much better with the
right support and planning.
As it stands now, many
expensive projects remain to be
finished at Farmingdale. Dr.
Cipriani would like to get
things under way.
Finally, he stressed the
economic importance of
Farmingdale to the sur-rounding
community, as
evidence for greater financial
support.
Dr. Cipriani has many plans
for Farmingdale both
economically and financial, all
for the improvement of our
school.
We would like to extend our
best wishes to our new
president in hoping he can
carry out all that he intends to
do.
