The moonlight sail under the au¬ spices of the Brass Band to High Hill Beach last Saturday night was a great success. Dancing was enjoyed at Kil- lian's Pavilion. About 60 people went on Haff's boat and an enjoyable sail was heightened by a perfect moon.

It was soon evWent that unless promptly checked, the fire would sweep through the terminal .building, which was filled with smoke, and threatened •by burning cindera. The Long Island Railroad employes have been trained as fire fighters, and it did not take them long to get several streams of water playing on the flames. Some of the old-time residents who have not become enthused over the pro¬ ject, fear, it is said, that a tax for fire hydrants will be imposed and they are against such a tax.
