A major revitalization project
has begun at the Nassau Mall in
Island Trees (Levittown) which
includes a physical spruce up, the
opening of several new stores and
a series of special events.
The Nassau Mall, located on
Hempstead Turnpike between
Wantagh Avenue and Hamlet
road, was the brainchild of the
Feldman Brothers builders of
the Crescent Office Park building
on the same site. However, the
economy dealt the Feldmans a
heavy blow as well as many
others in the commercial
building field and the grand and
much-heralded plans for a
thriving office complex have
been delayed.
Two years ago, the Feldmans
sold the Nassau Mall and the new
owners are making preparations
for a "spring spruce up". Plans
are underway to make the
Nassau MM an attractive place
to shop.Wprkman have begun
painting sections of the Mall
interior and planting ivy in the
large concrete planters which
run throughout the Mall.
Shopkeepers have been encouraged
to spark up their stores
and the sighs of Spring are
beginning to show.
Beside the physical facelift of
the Nassau Mall, the Merchants
Association hired a public
relations consultant and in the
months to come plans are underway
for Arts and Crafts
shows, Scout Exhibits, Camping
Show, Photography Contest
Aquarium Show, and many other
surprises. For an Easter
Celebration, the first Annual

buyer choose an auto which gets
the best mileage," Lent said.
/'Informed decisions on the part
of the car buying public an help
reduce our country's dependence
on foreign oil."

An Open Letter
I wish at this time to express my thanks to all the
Merchants of Bethpage, who had helped me and mine
during my hour of need. Since the death, a tragic death
of my son Tommy Moran, who was slain by holdup men
last week in Farmingdatevevery hand was placed in
mine. I wish most sincerely that I could write every*
one's name in this letter but know that its not possible.
Arthur and his wife of the Broadway Deli has been
more than a friend and I am sure that he will convey
my thanks to each and everyone of the fine Merchants
from Bethpage.
My table was kept filled with food for me and
Tommy's younger brothers and sisters, and friends of
Martin Road North and South were so good that I am
« unable to express in words what I wish to say. All I can
say my dearest friends is thanks so very much,it is all
that I can offer you. May God bless you all,
A Grateful Mother
Mrs. Elizabeth Moran Fiore
