Home Of the "Lem" An Academy Award
TRIBUTE TO AN ACHIEVEMENT: George Skurla (right), Chairman of the Board and President of
Grumman Aerospace Corporation, and Bethpage Rotary President Harry Flor (second from right)
look over artist renderings for a permanent display of a scale model of the Grumman-built Lunar
"LEM" Module being held up by Oyster Bay Town Councilman Salvatore R. Mosca (second from
left) and Jaime Ortiz, community service coordinator for the Rotary and display designer. The
project, a joint venture between Grumman and the Rotary, was conceived as a tribute to Grumman's
achievement and also to mark the 10th anniversary of man's first landing on the moon. The display
will be located at the Bethpage Rotary Circle, situated between Stewart Avenue and the Broadway
south of the railroad station. Bethpage is the home of the "LEM."

Rally For
Senior $$$
Unless Congress acts quickly to
approve supplemental appropriations
consistent with
authorized levels in the Older
Americans Act, older persons in
New York State may lose $4.2
million in federal funds, resulting
in drastic reductions in aging
programs.
The Nassau County Department
of Senior Citizen Affairs,
which administers programs
under the Older Americans Act,
has mounted an extensive
campaign to rally support for a
supplementary appropriate
resolution to be passed in
Congress within the next few
weeks. In a telegram sent to
Senators Moynihan and Javits,
Commissioner Adelaide Attard
said, "On behalf of the 200,000
senior citizens of Nassau County,
our Department urges your
support of a supplemental appropriation
to increase federal
funding levels for the remainder
