RECOGNITION: Executive Vice President of National Bank of North American Joseph Campbell
(I.), presents Outstanding Football Award plaques to players for their outstanding performances in
the high school playoff games recently. Pictured to the right of Mr. Campbell are Tim Doherty, Wan-tagh

were part of NBNA's Outstanding Football Award Program in which each of the 115 participating
schools in Nassau and Suffolk selected an outstanding player for each week of the football* season.
This year more than 915 athletes will be honored.

Public Affairs Forum
Forum '79, a public affairs
dialogue for the people of Long
Island will be held at Hofstra
University on Saturday, February
10th under the sponsorship
of the Nassau Democratic County
Committee. The daylong
program, open to the public, is
expected to involve 400 people in
a one to one examination of local,
state and federal concerns.
Westchester County Executive
Alfred B. Del Bello will deliver a
brief keynote address on local
issues at the opening morning
session. It is expected that Lt.
Governor Mario M. Cuomo will
keynote state concerns during the
"working" luncheon session and
a prominent federal official will
keynote national concerns during
the closing afternoon session.
Among those public officials vlio
have already agreed to participate
in Forum '79 are: New
York City Council President
Carol Bellamy, Congressman
Jerome A. Ambro, Nassau
District Attorney Denis Dillon,
North Hempstead Councilwoman
Barbara Blumberg, N.Y.C. Controller
Harrison J. Goldin, Mayor
Murray Seeman of Great Neck
and Assemblyman Lewis J.
Yevoli. Governor Carey's office
has also expressed an interest in
his participation during part of
the day.
The activities on Saturday,
February 10th in the Student
Center, north campus of Hofstra
University will start at 10:00a.m.
with registration, coffee & cake
and an opportunity to meet each
other and some of the public
officials who will chair the
various panels. At 11:00 County
Executive Del Bello will keynote
local concerns.
The following seminar sessions
will be conducted between 11:30 -
1:00:
1. How can we keep the cost of
local government down?
2. How does society aid senior
citizens in dealing with their
problems?
3. What services by what
governmental level should be
provided?
4. Jobs and the survival of local
, business - can they be assured
today and tomorrow?
5. How do we get the public
involved in governmental
processes?
The afternoon sessions, between
2:00 and 3:30 p.m., will
deal with:
6. What is the responsibility of
the public in the area of drugs,
crime and justice?
7. Has government the
capacity to protect the environment
and sail insure adequate
utility facilities?
8. Can we fund public education
without going bankrupt?
9. Who is responsible for
providing health care?
10. Are we capable of meeting
the new housing need on Long
Island?
Each of the seminar sessions
will be divided into two units of 45
minutes to permit participants to
attend more than one session in
the morning and afternoon.
Those wishing to participate in
Forum '79, limited to the first 400
people, should write to Forum
'79, 240 Mineola Blvd., Mineola,
N.Y. 11501, enclose a check of
$4.00 to cover admission, coffee
break, lunch, seminars and
materials. A special rate of $2.50
per person has been set for
students and senior citizens.
Participants are also being
requested to indicate which of the
seminars they expect to attend.
