St. Martin Of Tours Soccer Club
Girls Division Take Bronze Medal
The Bethpage girls 1970 (under 11) division, representing the Saint
Martin of Tours Soccer Club, won the Bronze Medal for third place in the
Third Annual Brentwood / Citibank Soccer Tournament held June 20th
and 21st in Brentwood.
More than 2,500 elementary and junior high school students
participated in the event, the largest intramural soccer tournament of its
kind.
During the tournament the girls played five games and lost only one
against Island Trees (0-2). In their game against Massapequa they were
victorious (5-0). Four of the five goals were scored by Tara Lejkowski.
Congratulations are to be extended to these girls for their fine
performance and to their coaches Richie Stey and Chris Nicolaou for a
season well done.
