Career Day At Adelphi
Mr. Stu Agins, Chairman of the Guidance Department at Plainview-Old
Bethpage High School, was a member of the planning committee for the
Career Day Program which was held at Adelphi University in January.
More than 4,000 Nassau County high school students, including students
from Plainview-Old Bethpage, had the opportunity to meet with representatives
of 65 career fields. While the students explored their career interests,
the Guidance Counselors who accompanied them heard Mr. J.
Edward Meyer, Vice Chancellor of the New York State Board of Regents,
discuss the new State Guidance Curriculum.
The Career Day Program was sponsored by The Long Island Personnel
and Guidance Association of Nassau County, The Long Island Region Industry-
Education Council, and BOCES of Nassau County.
