| Description | Postcard showing the entrance to property on Hempstead Harbor near Motts Cove owned successively by notable residents Nathaniel Pearsall (1649-1703), Stephen Taber (1821-1886), Thomas Clapham (1839-1915), and Benjamin Stern (1858-1933). The Italinate-style home, seen at the end of the drive was known as Stone House during Clapham's tenure and as Claraben during Stern's tenure. It was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005. Divided back. |
