On Sunday, .July 8th, over 500 members of the
Bethpage SMT Soccer Club attended their
annual picnic at Eisenhower Park. The rare sunny
weekend day was filled with games, and contests
for the young and not so- young. Free refreshments
and fresh corn on the cob supplemented the
usual array of picnic food.
The highlight of the picnic was the awards ceremony
honoring winriing teams from the Spring season.
Professional soccer players: Doc Lawson
and Nick Megaloudis were on hand to present the
trophies and special awards. Club president, John
Eastwood, reported that these and other professional
soccer players have devoted rtiuch of their
free time to supporting soccer club activities on
Long Island. Club President John Eastwood add
