Used Cars For Sale
The Town of Oyster Bay
is offering 14 used cars, for
sale, in "as is" condition,
according to Town Councilman
Thomas L. Clark.
"The vehicles will be
available for inspection on
August 26th and August
27th, between 9 AM and 3
PM at the Department of
Public Works, 150 Miller
Place, Syosset. Persons
interested in inspecting the
vehicles should contact William
Ippolito at 921-7347,
extension 530 to arrange for
an appointment," Clark
said.
The Mvehicles offered for
sale include seven 1980
AMC Concords, three 1978
Plymouth Volares, a 1977
AMC Hornet, a 1975 Ford
Torino, a 1977 Plymouth
Fury and a 1981 Chevrolet.
All are four-door passenger
cars. In addition, a 1976
Cushman three-wheel vehicle
and a 20 yard open container
'dumpster' will also be
offered for sale.
Persons interested in
submitting a bid may obtain
the forms, which .will be
available on August 19th,
from the Town's Purchasing
Division in person, or by
mailing a request for forms
for Bid No. SE5-85, and
enclosing the stamps for
postage (85 cents) to the
Purchasing Division, Town
Hall West Building, Audrey
Avenue, Oyster Bay, 11771.
After the form is com-pjeted,
it must be returned to
the Purchasing Division in a
sealed envelope, no later
than 11 AM on Wednesday,
August 28th. The bids will
be opened and read at a public
hearing on August 28 at
11 AM in the Purchasing
Division hearing room, 4th
floor West Building, Audrey
Avenue, Oyster Bay.
All interested bidders are
welcome to attend the bid
opening. The vehicles will go
to the highest bidders.

An up-to-date list of job
opportunities in private
industries throughout the
Town of Oyster Bay is now
available, it was announced
this week by Town Supervisor
Joseph Colby.
"The Job Opportunities
Program has worked well in
past years, thanks to the
cooperation of many businesses
within the Town,"
Colby said. "This list, offering
immediate opportunities
and soon-to-be-available
positions should be most
helpful to those seeking full-time
permanent employment,
as well as for those
looking for part-time job
opportunities."
Under the program, businesses
within the Town of
Oyster Bay are asked to provide
the Town with information
concerning specific job
openings. "We then print the
list and distribute it to Town
facilities, local libraries, colleges
and high schools,"
Colby explained. "Those
seeking jobs can then check
the listing and contact the
company that is offering a
position for which the indi-vidual
believes he is
qualified."

over 25 firms covering a
wide range of businesses.

Colby stated.
The Job Opportunities
Program listing is posted at
the Town Clerk's offices in
Town Hall, Oyster Bay and
at the Town Hall annexes in
Hicksvilleand at Town Hall
South, 977 Hicksville Road,
Massapequ*a. Residents will
be able to inspect the listing
during the hours of 9 AM to
4:45 PM. The list is also
available at local libraries,'
high schools and colleges.

Participating in the Brentwood/Citibank Soccer Club Tournament was the Plainview-
Old Bethpage team which competed in the 1978 Boys Division. The Tournament was held
on June 15 and 16 at the Western Campus of Suffolk County Community College in
Brentwood.
According to Frank Pellicione, Tournament Director and Assistant Vice President lor
Citibank, 3700 boys and girls aged 5 to 15 years participated.
Pajama Games

•year-olds in special evening storytiitie fun and games at the Bethpage Public Library.
Pre-schoolers were invited to attend in pajamas, if they wished, and to bring along favorite
stuffed toys. Parents were also invited. The two sessions of Pajama Storytrme were held
from 7:15 to 8:00 P.M. on selected Tuesday evenings, and the programs included a
.potpourri of day-is-done.activities~appropriate stories, songs, puppetry, games, and films.
Paijama-clad small fry turned out in force and participated with enthusiasm in hand-clapping,
foot-stomping numbers, as well as in the lower-key sweet dreams finale.
Bear hugs and pajamas at the library! Kevin Keiding (ri^) and Jennifer Mdrea (left) are
busy cuddling their teddy bears, clapping to the music, and just plain having a wonderful
time at a recent session of Teddy Bear Pajama; Storytime, popular summer evening
programs for pajama-clad tots, at the Bethpage Public Library.
