Conservative Gas Reacts
to Propane Disaster
Responding to the grave concerns of
community residents and public officials.
Conservative Gas Company of
Wyandanch announced today the
establishment of a local office to consider
claims for damages from anyone
evacuated by last week's truck accident
on the Seaford-Oystej Bay Expressway
(Route 135), according to William J.
Daly, general manager.
"We sincerely regret any inconvenience
that this unfortunate incident may
have caused the people of Nassau and
Suffolk. As a gesture of our goodwill to
those in the immediate vincinily, we
have taken extraordinary measures to
expedite any reasonable claims on a
timely basis," he said.
Daly explained that Conservative
Gas is anxious to maintain the good
reputation the company has earned in
60 years of service on Long Island. He
also cited the leadership of County
Executive Thomas S. GuUota as an
influence in moving aggressively to
address the legitimate concerns of the
parties involved.
The claims operation has been
assigned to a national claims adjustment
specialist firm. Crawford & Company,
which has 800 branches throughout
the U.S., including one in Jericho. A
temporary office has been established at
544 Broadway. Massapequa for the
convenience of the evacuation area residents.

Three general categories of claims
currently under consideration include
families evacuated from their homes,
businesses required to close in the evacuated
area and wages of employees of
those businesses. In addition. Conservative
Gas is attempting to arrange

his first visit to Long Island, Wednesday evening at Nassau Community College.
A crowd of over 6,000 people filled the College's Physical Fitness Center to greet
Shamir and hear his discussion of current and future policies of the Israeli State.
Shamir'ii visit was hosted by County Executive Gulotta in conjunction with the Conference
of Jewish Organizations in Nassau County and the Jewish Community Relations
Council of New York.
The visit to Long Island by Prime Minister Shamir marked the highest ranking Israeli
c^cial ever to vbit.Long Island.
