Pictured above is the bird bath, donated by the Bethpage Tribune,
which is located at Leo Schottland Court in the Bethpage
Community Park in Bethpage. Below is the entire portion of
the park which was dedicated to Leo Schottland on August 28,
1989.
ugust 28, 1989 marked a special
day in the hearts of many Beth-ipage
residents as we honored an
oustanding individual in our commun-nity...
Mr. Leo Schottland.
This past Monday the Bethpage Tribune,
the Bethpage Rotary Club and the
Town of Oyster Bay dedicated a portion
of the Bethpage Community Park to Mr.
Schottland for his oustanding record of
community service and dedication to the
town of Bethpage and its residents. Leo
Schottland Court, as it has been named,
is located directly between the skating rink
and the pool area in the Community Park.
This project was truly a labor of love
for the Bethpage Tribune as Leo is not
only a beloved friend but also a featured
columnist in our newspaper since its
inception. When the Tribune first decided
to honor Leo Schottland we tried to think
of a tribute that would represent the joy
and spirit that Leo examplifies. We hope
