Nassau County Executive Thomas S. Gulotta ties a yellow ribbon to a
United States Flag at a recent Nassau County Board of Supervisors to support
our United States Troops in the Persian Culf.
Candlelight Ceremony Planned
To Honor
A candlelight ceremony will be held
on February 11 at 7:00 p.m. at the
Bethpage High School auditorium to
honor our Soldiers in the Middle Hast.
All are welcome. Following the
ceremony a meeting on AIDS education
featuring Carol Daub, NYS
Regional Coordinator on AIDS
Fducation will be held at the Middle
School and High School students are
also welcome. Call 681-8535 lor more

PERSIAN GULF
Oyster Bay Vown Supervisor
Angelo A. Delligatti is urging all
Town Residents to participate in a
Town of Oyster Bay support rally for
military personnel engaged in Operation
Desert Storm. Ihe rally will take
place on Sunday, February 10, 1991
at 2 p.m. in John J. Burns 1 own Park,
Merrick Road, Massapequa.
"This event is intended as a Town-wide
expression of support of our
troops and their families and loved
ones," said the Supervisor. "We want

said. The rally will include the
massing of colors, patriotic band
music and guest speakers, as well as
an invocation and benediction by
members of the clergy.

have loved ones serving in the Persian
Gulf have received special invitations
to the rally. "We've reached out to
all Town residents weVe been made
aware of who have loved ones in the
. . ,we want all of our countrymen and women in the Persian
Gulf, and espedalfy Sbmefrom the Town of Oyster Bay, to know
we standfuUy behind them and are proud of their courage...
all of our countrymen and women in
the Persian Gulf, and especially those
from the Town of Oyster Bay, to know
that we stand fully behind them and
are proud of their courage."
Supervisor Delligatti added that
John J. Burns Town Park was chosen
as the site of the rally because it is
the Town's largest park facility, with
parking to accommodate the greatest
number of vehicles.
"We're hoping that residents and
groups from all of our I own's communities
will join in this message of
support, by turning out with Amer-
(iulf,"said Supervisor Delligatti. "We
know, however, there are more that
we don't know about, and we're
hoping they will attend the rally a.s
our honored guests." A special,
cordoned-off area will be clearly
marked at the rally for families of
service personnel.
The support rally will take place,
regardless of weather conditions.

Gift of Life Donation Cited
Jamie Ortiz, Bethpage Rotary Club member and (lift uf Life, Inc. enthusiast
was on hand when a check for $1000 was presented to the (lift of Life by
Herbert Baumgaertner, right. Past President of the Syos.set Rotary Club. Also
present to accept the award was from left to right. Kurt Weisshaupt, Vice
President of the (lift of Life and Ronnie Kessler, President. Ihe (iift of Life
Inc. is an organization for children around the world who need open heart
surgery.
