Bethpage P.A.L. Girls Softball League
Bethpage P.A.L. Girls Softball
League played their first annual
allstar game on Thursday, Aug. 27,
1992 at the Bethpage Community
Park. The Division I Allstars
including the Bethpage Smurfs
and Peanuts defeated the Division
II Allstars including the Bethpage
Rug Rats and Charlies Angles by
the score of 12-4. This ended an
exciting season in P.A.L. history.
Our thanks to all the coaches,
parents, and all the girls for making
Bethpage P.A.L. Girls Softball
truly "A League of Their Own."

of America, Nassau County Chapter #82 where he made last minute
announcements on the very important upcoming POW-MIA meeting.
The Smurfs
On Tuesday, September 15,
1992 a meeting will be held solely
on the POW-MIA issue at the VFW
Post 3211, 320 South Broadway,
Hicksville, starting at 8 P.M. The
public is invited. The event is
sponsored by the Vietnam Veterans
of America, Chapter UQ2
POW-MJA Committee, Chaired by
Paul Masi, in conjunction with
National POW-MIA Recognition
Week - September 14 to 19. A
recently completed video by
former POV^ Capt. "Red"' McDa-niels
entitled "Americans Abandoned"
will be shown, Guest
speakers include Daii Demauro,
President of the Freedom Foundation
and Lynn O'Shea, N.Y.S.
Director, National Alliance of
Families (World War II. Korea,
Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos).
"I urge you to attend this meeting,
get involved, iegirn the truth and
demand a final accounting of our
living POW brothers and return
our honored dead," said Masi,
