THE SCORE WAS LOVE TO LOVE
Once again People Counseling
Services held their annual Tennis
Marathon to help celebrate Red
Ribbon Week Festivities. This
year's marathon was dedicated to
a long time friend of Bethpage and
People, Bob Forestiere v/ho
tragically and suddenly passed
away this year. Bryant Kaplan who
diligently challenged player after
player in the sometimes chilly and
rainy weather managed to play a
full 10 hours, ail the while wearing
a t-shirt with the words "Bob, This
one's for you!"
What a fitting Tribute to Bob as
this marathon raised over $800
which will be used to purchase
books, pamphlets literature and
films to help educate the
community as to the dangers of
drugs and their effects.
The job that this agency is doing
for the community and our youth
is so vitally important. It is so
obvious and frightening as to what
drugs can do to a community and
to the individual. And above all
what a fitting tribute to Bob
Forestiere who lived life to the
fullest and can serve as an
inspiration to so many youths. Our
hats off to Bryant and People
Counsellit^g Agency.

The winning Drug Prevention poster was drawn by Tara Mahoney a
6th grader at JFK who showed everyone that she certainly was on
the "right path".
Spectators came to watch the marathon and view some of the drug
literature being distributed by People. Also on hand was Mr. and Mrs.
Forestiere, Bob's parents.
