Bethpage Fire Department
Responds to Natural Gas Leak
On October 7, 2010 the Bethpage Fire Department responded to Lauman Lane in Hicksville
after a contractor struck a gas main with a back hoe. Fire fighters used one hose line to dissi-pate
the Natural gas flowing from the ruptured pipe. National Grid responded and shut down
the main. No injuries were reported. The Plainview, Farmingdale and Hicksville Fire
Departments were also called to the scene and checked all the business on the street with
meters for any detection of gas in the buildings, none was found. (Photos by Kevin Imm)
