57 Applications Screened,
Six Recommended for Post
It wm antiounced by Hugh Erwin, President, Ihat on Tliursday
evening, April 6, the Preeport Board of Education met with and received
the report of the Professional Screening Committee concerning applicants
for the vacancy created by the retirement of Dr. John W. Dodd.
The report stated that a total of fifty-seven appltoations had been
received and screened, and recom- • •
mended the names of six of the
most qualified outstanding candidates.
At the suggestion of the Screening
Committee, the Board of Education
has agreed that the names of all
applicants will be kept conllden-tlal
not only as a matter of proper
procedure but also as a professional
courtesy and protection to all of
the men who applied.
As a part of the plan outlined In
January, the Board of Education will
