By .EDDIE VASO,
There aren't enough superlatiYes to truly describe Peter
C. Eelly and the Freeport Republican Club. They are more
than just politicians—they are • servants ^of the community.
"GOP" means the "Grand pld Party" but it could easily
mean "Great Organizations of People.? The annual Peter C.
Kelly Scholarship Awards proves this reputation.
This was readily evidenced last week when ^approximately
500 men and women attended the third' annual
Peter C. Kelly Scholarship Dinner held at Carl Hoppl'sr It
•,was a memorial to the respect of the people for Peter Kelly
^niid Hepublican interi^st iii.Jh^.£Oininunity.
This jvas also evidenced by the hundreds' who Contribute
fO'^lhis worthy cause each year and make it possible
for deserving students to further their studies. In 1961, ten
Freeport students will benefit from the commendable efforts
of the Freeport Republicans, eoiami(te«inen'twho
formed the various eommitiees svMch raiiii ihe nbcessary
scholarship funds.
