After a public hearing that lasted over five hours Monday night,
with Mayor Robert J. Sweeney and village officials going over tx 137-
page budget pagfe by page, the Freeport Village Board adopted the
budget for the new fiscal year beginning March 1. A total budget
nl $5,554,000 will call for a tax rate of $4.58 per hundred dollars of

For her 15 years as nur.sing director at Doctors Hospital, Freeport,
Lolila Minnick was saluted recently by officials and fellow employes.
Mrs. Minnick retired from nursing, a profession she has pursued
since 1924, She was presented with a check for her years of service
