memory. of the oldest resident the
various local agencies met tjie situation
with an efficiency that was
little short of marvelous and reduced
suffering to a minimum. Driven
by a northeast gale, the tide at 6:30
o'clock reached a height of S'/g
inches above the previous record .<5Pt
on November 28, 19S0.
All the waterfront- area- was--In- -
undated. The high tide carried the
water as far north as Atlantic avenue

some sti-eets. Buildings erected prior
to the adoption of an ordinance requiring
