The following release was
issued by the school board
after meeting Monday evening
to dmcuss the rencjva-tion
or replacement of the
Dodd School.
"The Board of Education
met this evening to vote on
^the many plans that it has
provuig or replacing the
Dodd School.
After examining ail alternatives,
the Board voted 4 -
1 in favor of presenting the
first part of a two part building
program, the first part
to be presented to residents
on March 27, 1972.
The two step program,
when fully implemented,
will equal new faciUties on
the Dodd site and represent
an amalgamation of Board
feelings.
Part I, at a cost of
$3,456,000.00 will provide
a new cafeteria, new gymnasium,
new library and new
facilities for music instruction,
and Part 11 will provide
modern classrooms.
The vote has been scheduled
for March 27 th and a
Special Public Meeting will
be held Wednesday, March
1st at the Atkinson School.
At that time the Board of
Education and the Administration,
as well as the
^chitect will outline the
|,j^8|S|if complete plan and be avail-
IpJ^'M^i able to answer all questions
