FREEPORT — The Freeporl
School Board, at their Fe|jruary
meeting, heard School Superintendent
Donald Cosllow report on
the proposal to consolidate all of
the pre-KJndergarten • program
for" Ffppcrrl~youngslers at the
Cleveland Avenue School.
Freeporl children, attending pre-
K classes, now attend sessions
either at the Bayview Avenue^
School or at Camp Baumann.'
Negotiations are currently being
concluded with BOGES, to which
the District leases the Cleveland
Avenue SchoojLbuilding, wljich
would enable the district to hold
all pre-K classes on the first floor

FREEPORT — The Freeporl
PTAs celebrated Founders' Day
this past Monday evening at the
High School. Superintendent of
Schools Donald Costlow greeted
the over 100 guests.and especially
welcomed the High School
students who participated in the
program.He spoke of his pride in
the Preeport PTAs and thanked
them for their support of the
Preeport schools. Ttie audience
heard selections by the High
School Choraleers and the High
- School Stage Band.
PTA Life Memberships were
awarded by.each unit and by PTA
Council to those individuals who
children ' and the community.
Recipients of this year's awards
were Edward Johnson, head
custodian of Archer Street
School, and Tom Haley, Principal
of Archer Street School (by
Archer PTA); Elaine Lathan (by
Columbus PTA):. Ellen Extract
(by Giblyn School PTA); Betty
Black (by Dodd Jr. H.S. PTA);
Marion Douglas, teacher at
Bayview Avenue School, and
Mary Ciordaoo (by Bayview
PTA); George Emma, HS
Basketball Coach (by Freeport
HS PTA); Joseph Holbrook, a
